GIVE YOUR GREATEST GIFT

Most of the time, when I ask people what their most valuable gift to others is, they say, "my time". This makes sense, because it is what people ask for the most. However, I have become convinced that you offer an even stronger gift than your time and that is energy.

When you are a person of value, influence, and meaning in someone's life, the greatest gift you give them is energy that helps them go further faster, or recover rapidly, or gain clarity quicker. In other words, the reason people want to be with you is because of the energy they receive when you're there.

So, consider the need to steward your energy. We usually aren't bringing much energy when we are exhausted, distracted, defeated, or empty. Therefore, one of the greatest acts of generosity you can perform is to manage your energy so that when you spend time with people who want or need you, you are bringing all the energy you can for their good.

It's my observation that most people are in a massive battle with discouragement or exhaustion. My prayer has become, "Lord, please fill me with your Spirit and your strength so I can bring your energy, joy and hope to every person I meet today." This mission requires that I remain healthy, strong in Jesus, and burden-free in Him, so I can bring it when called upon by my friends.

May you steward well the energy of God in your own heart and intentionally bring that energy to those who need you most today!
