Change Your Mood
Brent Colby
It’s easy to be positive when things are going easy. It’s more difficult to stay positive when things are going poorly. We often express our emotions as a reflection of the world around us. Our perception becomes expression. Take a moment to reflect: how have you been feeling lately? Stressed, anxious, tired? Many of us are living is stressful, anxiety-ridden, and exhausting circumstances. Or your world may be filled with joy, hope, and opportunity. Changes are your emotions are in tow of your environment.
To take control of your environment is to take control of your mood. Where you spend your time emotionally will often determine how you express yourself. When I find myself in a bad mood it’s usually because I have not been intentional about my environment. I need to spend time in worship, in the word, doing things I enjoy, and I need to spend time having fun with my family!
When we submit our environment to the Lord, we can experience His joy with less friction. What aspect of your environment can you change today?
