The Evidence is Clear

I’m preparing to head off to my semi-annual visit to the Dentist this week. It is one of my least favorite things to do! Perhaps you can relate? The questions will come regarding how often I’m brushing my teeth, and how frequently I’m flossing between them. The problem is that the Hygenist already knows the answer. The evidence is right there in front of her. I can claim I brush my teeth three times a day, and state that I let the timer on my electric toothbrush cycle all the way through before turning it off! And I floss twice a day without fail. But my teeth and gums won’t lie for me. They will tell the truth without fail and the evidence will be clear.

This has me pondering the condition of my faith. Is the evidence clear to those around me that I’m a follower of Jesus? Is it necessary for me to shout this from the rooftops, or will the fruits of the spirit tell that story all by themselves? Galatians 22-23 says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Tell people you’re a follower of Jesus by letting him improve your fruit! The evidence will be clear.
