Feeling Accused Lately?

David Reyes

This is for all those people who are feeling accused at the moment. Maybe someone made a judgment about you or an assumption that’s way off base, and you’re feeling attacked. They meant well, but now you’re having to defend yourself against things that just aren’t true. I’ve been there before, and it’s miserable.

In those moments, it’s easy for others to say, “Oh, brush it off. Don’t pay them any attention!” But the reality is that it hurts, and you are now offended. I want to offer you some better encouragement.

First, know that satan is the all-time league leader in accusations.

“Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night.”

If you’re feeling accused and belittled at the moment, it’s the spirit of satan at work against you.

Second, when that satanic culture is at work against you, there will be no truth in the accusations.

“John 8:44 [Satan] was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

His plan is to sprinkle a tad bit of truth into a whole lot of lies. That’s why we sometimes fall for it. “Maybe they’re right about me because I do always mess up,” we tell ourselves. But don’t fall for it! It’s yet another lie.

And finally, be patient; be silent. God’s got your back!

“Isaiah 54:17 But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Remember, they want you to lose your cool so they can say, “you see? I told you you were a bad person!” Be patient a know that God sees the injustice. All you have to do is trust him to fight your battle.

It is challenging, for sure! But here’s some more truth. Those people accusing you have some deeply rooted issues that you and I will never comprehend. If anything, we should be empathetic towards them. That’s asking a lot of you, but I can testify about the power that empathy has to heal.

Not sure if this helps you, but thinking this way has undoubtedly helped me.

Blessings!
