"Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes." - Psalm 115:3

I went online the other day and looked up President Biden’s public schedule for the day and it seemed he had a pretty busy day (which I’m guessing is the norm). From security briefings to press briefings to meeting with various government officials, etc., there was a lot going on and that was just his public schedule – who knows what other matters he was dealing with outside of the public eye. The President of the United States is often referred to as the most powerful individual in the world – and for good reason. He is the commander-in-chief of the most powerful military in the world as well as the CEO of the largest economy in the world! That’s a lot of power!
But in comparison with the Person that I talk to everyday, President Biden’s power is actually quite minuscule, almost not even worth mentioning. President Biden sits in an Oval Office surrounded with all the trappings of power and might that this world can offer – but it’s all illusionary. It is God alone who holds true, lasting and unquestionable power. And his throne room is a bit grander than the President’s Oval Office (read Isaiah 6:1-4 or Revelation chapter 4 for proof)! So when I come into God’s throne room (confidently and boldly as He tells me to according to Hebrews 4:16) I am entering the presence of Someone who has ALL POWER AND AUTHORITY (those are Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:18). The Ancient of Days won’t ever be up for re-election or stymied by a filibuster. I don’t even have to go through any security details to see Him – no, the Bible says He knows me by name!
It is simply through the blood of Jesus that he has opened this new and living way for me to draw near to Him (Hebrews 10:19-22). And when I do that, presenting my requests to God and asking, seeking, knocking – He promises to not only hear me but respond. That is because He actually has the power and the desire to do something about the stuff I talk to Him about! I don’t know about you, but this is what I want to experience every time I’m with Him. And because of Who I am talking to, I get way more and way better results than President Biden does. President Biden can issue executive orders and initiate policies, but I serve the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords whose kingdom and government will never end (Isaiah 9:7).
So . . . who do you think has more power, President Biden or me?
