Use Your Gifts!
Tyler Thornton
We can sometimes think of our relationship with God as a private, personal matter, and while there are deeply personal aspects of a relationship with God the real beauty comes as we experience Him together through the unity of His body, the Church.
One way we understand God more fully is through experiencing and sharing the benefits of each others gifts.
1 Corinthians 12:7 says, “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”
God has gifted you and me with spiritual gifts meant to serve and build up His Church. These gifts were never meant to act as a badge of honor to bolster our egos, but rather as symbols of love to unify and bless His children.
We are not designed to experience all the spiritual gifts ourselves and we must allow ourselves to be served by the gifts of others.
In a world hyper focused on independence, God has hardwired us for interdependence. You need the body’s gifts, and it needs yours!
Pray today for the Spirit to make clear to you the ways in which He wants to empower you to use your gifts to serve others!
