Who is God Sending to You?

"One day as he was walking along the beach beside the Lake of Galilee, he (Jesus) saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—out in a boat fishing with a net, for they were commercial fishermen. Jesus called out, 'Come along with me and I will show you how to fish for the souls of men!'” Matthew 4:18-19

Today I had coffee with a friend who I had never met before. That probably sounds a bit strange, right? Well, there's more to the story of course. I first connected with him at the beginning of June through a mutual acquaintance. He was out of state, but after our first phone conversation we ended up texting frequently. Over the course of the last (almost) two months, we've had a number of very open and honest text conversations and have become friends. So, when we finally were able to meet for coffee today, it was the first time we had actually "met" face to face, but felt more like a reunion than an introduction.

I consider him a part of my Oikos, even though we don't live near each other and have never seen each other in person except for today. He is one of the people that God in his supernatural wisdom and power has strategically placed in my sphere of influence, what we call the front row seat of your life. Hopefully we'll be able to connect again in person, but regardless he's still someone in my Oikos that I can B.L.E.S.S. - by praying for him, listening to him, serving him and sharing my story with him as the Holy Spirit leads.

Jesus doesn't expect us to figure it out, just to be sensitive to His Spirit. He doesn't ask us to reach everybody, just who he sends us.
