Day 2: God Is The Comprehensive Sustainer Of All Things

Day Two

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

»  Where are you when you feel the closest to God? (practice that today)

»  Do you have a tendency to tell God how big your problems are, or to tell your problems how big God is? Why?

»  If God was to speak to your current fears or anxieties, what would He say? (take a few moments to listen for His answer)

»  Practice this week’s memory verse.

God exists outside of time and He created all things out of nothing. The heavens declare His glory and the earth reveals His Majesty. He is in everything and exists everywhere, but His creation cannot contain Him. His Presence gives life and life cannot exist without Him.

The Apostle Paul described him this way, “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands... he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’” (Acts 17:24-28)

God is present and active in every aspect of Creation, maintaining the order of all things even in our fallen world. And God has made
a way for us to experience life in His Kingdom, all day every day, through the death and resurrection of Jesus. “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:15-17)

Therefore we will not be afraid, even when the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the sea. Instead, we fix our thoughts on Jesus, our apostle and high priest; the initiator and sustainer of our faith, who will never leave us or forsake us.
